1770s CIVILIAN OUTER COAT: This garment is most
commonly associated with the Revolutionary War period. The pleats are
very shallow; tails are much shorter. The
coat has a collar. The cuffs are smaller and sleeves are tighter. The
coat body is wool with a cotton or fustian lining. All coats have
working pockets. This particular civilian
version can also have lapels, and buttons of various types and colors. Buttons can be pewter or
brass. Brass will be $1.00 per button. Covered buttons are also offered. Without lapels: $425.00
